Originally from Peru, I earned a degree in English before moving to Boston. Little did I know over the years I would become a mother, an educator and a businesswoman. Driven by my love for working with children, I entered the Early Childhood Education Program at Urban College of Boston. I graduated with honors, and on April 3, 2009 received the Emerging Leader Award at the Early Childhood Education Annual Award Luncheon.

After more than 10 years working in Early Childhood Education, I was thrilled when the opportunity to open the Little Children Schoolhouse in Brookline arose. As a mother, as well as an educator, I was driven to create a unique, family-centered school tailored to each child’s needs. From my experience raising my own children, I understand how important it is to have childcare that nurtures a child’s development and fits each family’s lifestyle. This is the reason why LCS does not offer only full-time slots; we know how important it is for children and parents to be together as much as possible during these formative years.

I’ve always considered myself to be a fortunate woman. As a girl growing up in Peru, I dreamt of a life filled with exciting experiences and great moments. I began my journey early, earning a degree in Computer Science at 19. This experience opened doors to exciting work opportunities for me. At 21, my job with a prominent travel agency in Peru enabled me to travel globally, experience the world and meet new people. It was a time I’ll never forget.

The journey continued with a move to Boston and career change driven by my love for young children. At Urban College, I found my second home and graduated with honors in Early Childhood Education – one of the best decisions of my life. I’ve always wanted to make a difference and to help families in need. This motivated me to continue my education and major in Human Services.

After gaining over 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I joined the Little Children Schoolhouse family in 2005. On April 3, 2009, I received the Emerging Leader Award at the Early Childhood Education Annual Award Luncheon at Urban College. Becoming a businesswoman is an accomplishment of which I am very proud. To be recognized for it is a treasure.

The years have been filled with great experiences on a personal level too. I married and become a mother of two wonderful children. My daughter Stellaluna fills my life with calmness and books, pink & purple, dresses and laughs. My son Joaquin Tomas can run and do 10 things at the same time. He teaches me patience and appreciation. My family adds a fantastic balance to my life.
